Story
In April 2026, I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for a special cause very important to me and my family. Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.
Our story:
In December 2018 my grandad passed away from Alzheimer’s disease. In a way, we lost him long before this though. He was first diagnosed in 2006, and slowly deteriorated in memory and speaking ability through the years. I was born in 2005, so despite having years with grandad around, I never knew him as a person and I don’t remember him before the time that he went into a care home. I am regularly told by family how similar I am to him, both in personality and my passions for animals and music, however I will never get to share this with him.
I am very keen to keep up the wonderful fundraising efforts my granny and the rest of my family have organised in recent years, as well as pushing myself to complete a new challenge and train harder than ever to run a half marathon. It is so important to keep fighting to find a cure, so fewer people will have to experience similar stories to my family in the future.
Thank you so much in advance for everyone who will help me in supporting this wonderful cause🧡
Rhiannon
