Cardiff Half Marathon 2023 · 1 October 2023 ·

Running to raise money to help those who are affected by an acquired brain injury in South East Wales.

Story

In what can only be described as a mid-life crisis, without ever having done any running before (really quite bloody against it, in fact!) I signed up to do a half marathon. I started running mid-January and have tried to get out for a run 2-3 times a week ever since in preparation. I have cried, I have fallen over a few times (one was particularly spectacular) and I have injured muscles I didn’t know existed. But there have been some positives too - like the time I gatecrashed a half marathon and was almost announced as 3rd place by the man on the mic. I am also fitter than I’ve ever been, and who knew flies were so darn tasty?

So yes, I am taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon on 1st October 2023 with my lovely friends Rhian and Hannah. I am running in aid of Headway Cardiff and South East Wales to support those affected by acquired brain injury.

Please spare a couple £ if you have them. And do cheer me on if you see me - I need all the support I can get!
