Story
In 2018, I lost my mum to breast cancer. She had been just over 5 years clear, but sadly it returned and spread and although treatment was tried, it was unsuccessful. My mum was one of the strongest people I have ever known, who always had a brave face on, no matter how hard the struggle became and I only hope to be half the woman she was.
This week, I have also found out my previous boss, someone I viewed as an unrelated brother, Ben, sadly lost his fight to cancer. He had the most positive attitude in the face of adversity and the sad reality of suffering from cancer. Before Ben passed away, I told him he was part of my motivation for this race and I hope I can help keep his memory alive.
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, and every one of them needs the best support to meet their unique needs.
That's why Macmillan will do whatever it takes to help everyone living with cancer across the UK get the support they need right now and transform cancer care for everyone who will be diagnosed in the future.
