Help Me Run the London Marathon!
In 2017, while pregnant with my second daughter, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). It was terrifying. I was struggling to walk, dealing with intense neurological symptoms, and facing an uncertain future. At the time of my diagnosis, I had 26 lesions in my brain and spine, and my MS was considered highly active and aggressive.
My journey since then has been anything but easy. I underwent aggressive treatment, including three rounds of Lemtrada – a chemotherapy drug that wiped out my immune system and ended my breastfeeding journey as a new mum. I had to endure high-dose steroids, which took a significant toll on my body. These treatments, though necessary, left me physically weakened and forced me to confront what felt like an entirely new reality.
But today, I'm at a place where I can say I feel closer to 'normal'—whatever that may mean now. I don't look like I have a disability, and that's why I’ve decided to take on the challenge of running the London Marathon. While I may not actually be ‘running’ the marathon, I will be walking a lot, my goal is to simply finish, without needing to leave in an ambulance!
I want to show the world that even those of us with hidden disabilities can do hard things. We may face a different set of challenges, but it doesn’t mean we aren’t capable of achieving our goals. Running a marathon with MS is no small feat—it’s going to take days for my body to recover, and I will be in pain and discomfort throughout but I’m excited to take part.
Your support would mean the world to me as I take on this difficult challenge. Donations will help fund vital research into MS and support those affected by the condition. Please consider donating to this cause—your contribution will help make a real difference in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis.
Thank you for believing in me and supporting this journey. Donate today to help me cross that finish line!
