Story
Climate change is impacting grassroots communities worldwide, affecting their livelihoods and way of life. Communities for Nature (CfN) helps these communities increase their chances to build a bright future and provide lasting change - through sustainable livelihood creation, education, and restoration of their fragile ecosystems.
CfN's current programmes provide coastal and upland communities in the Philippines access to sustainable livelihood opportunities like chicken raising, vegetable farming, egg production and handicraft-making. It is also supporting young people from these communities to get through university to earn degrees in Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries by providing them support to meet their day to day needs. There are currently more than 100 family beneficiaries and 5 scholars and CfN is aiming to help more.
Help CfN grow and support more families in Southern Negros, Philippines and in our new project site, Kalimantan, Borneo along with our partners, Philippine Reef and Rainforest Conservation Foundation and Alam Sehat Lestari (ASRI).
Your help will support fishing villages and former loggers with sustainable livelihood and farming practices, bring mobile health clinics in more villages and deliver marine and terrestrial youth camps and provide scholarships for young people to go to universities.
To give you an idea of how your contribution can make a significant impact;
- £5 can provide a family of four in the Philippines with one day's basic needs.
- £25 can set up a livelihood project that will increase their income and transform their lives.
- £75, you can provide a student with a month's stipend, ensuring they have access to quality education and a brighter future.
- £150, a family can receive the support they need to establish an alternative livelihood and get back on their feet.
Join us to make a tangible impact and create a world where grassroots communities thrive amidst the threats of climate change. Together we can build a brighter and more sustainable future for their children. Your generosity can make all the difference.
