For my upcoming birthday, I would like to fundraise for Communities for Nature (CfN), a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.

As founder and trustee of CfN, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative impact we have on communities in the Philippines. Together with our partners, we have been working tirelessly to support those most affected by climate change.

CfN's current programmes provide coastal and upland communities in the Philippines access to sustainable livelihood opportunities like chicken raising, vegetable farming, egg production and handicraft-making. It is also supporting young people from these communities to get through university to earn degrees in Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries by providing them support to meet their day to day needs. There are currently more than 100 family beneficiaries and 5 scholars and CfN is aiming to help more.

I am inspired by the stories of resilience and hope that emanate from the families we support.

One particular memory that stays with me is the joy on the faces of families as they embrace new livelihood opportunities and the determination in the eyes of young scholars eager to make a difference. These moments fuel my passion to do more, to reach more communities, and to create a better future for all.

But there is still much work to be done. With your support, we can expand our reach and impact, like in Kalimantan, Borneo which is our new partner's project site. Your generosity can bring sustainable practices to fishing villages, healthcare to remote areas, and education to the youth who are the future guardians of our planet.
