Story
Summer, Michelle and I* will be taking part in Motion Control Dance's Sponsored Danceathon - 7 hours of non-stop dancing to raise money for the charity that I'm currently Trustee Chair for (*subject to my knees, feet, ankles and back not bailing on me).
Against a backdrop of rising inflation and a deepening cost-of-living crisis, there’s more reliance than ever on local charities, meaning in challenging times, they become more integral in their local communities than ever before. The reality of being a charity is that the projects, classes and sessions run in the Vale of Glamorgan by Emma and the MCD team can’t take place without the enormous generosity of supporters and fundraisers. Work includes free dance camps held during the summer holidays for children in the local community, as well as continued sessions for young people and adults with disabilities, and a focus on older people suffering with the likes of Dementia and Parkinson’s.
As with all charities, it’s been a challenging few years, striving to continue to deliver the same services and support whilst facing increased costs. Anything you can donate to help the team at MCD would be greatly appreciated (I promise the money won’t be spent on surgery to replace my knees).
