Story
I am thrilled and grateful to be able to run the London Marathon in 2026 in aid of KEMP Hospice. Living locally, I have been aware of the services and valuable care that KEMP provides, my Grandad who sadly passed away in 2021 spent his last moments in a Hospice, so I am delighted to have this opportunity to give back so that KEMP can continue to provide their compassionate care.
I work locally at Harlow Timber Kidderminster, and back in 2022 when our company became an Employee Owned Trust, one of our initiatives was to choose a local charity partner, and that has been KEMP ever since! We have done many events in aid of KEMP over the years, which drove me to sign up for this. I am determined to raise as much as I can for KEMP, so any donations no matter the amount will be greatly appreciated!
I started running properly almost a year ago now, and have done a fair few Half Marathons! My first event was the 10k Santa fun run for KEMP in December 2024! The London Marathon just felt like the ideal opportunity to not only push myself to the next level, but to give back. I am very grateful to KEMP for giving me this opportunity, their support has already been overwhelming, it's only right that I find ways to give back even more!
Please see a bit about KEMP, below:
Based in the heart of the Wyre Forest, KEMP Hospice provides vital free specialist care and support to patients, families and carers facing life-limiting illnesses and bereavement. We stand by their side during their toughest times, whether in our day hospice, in their own homes, or virtually.
Every service KEMP provides is completely free of charge, which means we rely heavily on the generosity of our supporters and fundraisers. It costs KEMP £1.9 million annually to provide our specialist care. We must raise approximately £1.6 million each year to ensure our services remain free and accessible for those who need them most, both now and in the future.
This is more than just a marathon; it's an opportunity to transform lives across the Wyre Forest!
