As some of you may be aware, Ellice has had the privilege of working in the field of dementia research for 10 years, trying to improve dementia care for people living with dementia and their families.

As Ellice was writing up her PhD thesis, in 2024, which focused on the hydration care of people living with dementia, Ellice and Ria’s Grandma was diagnosed with dementia.

It is currently estimated that there are 1 million people, like our Grandma, living with Dementia in the UK alone.

With an increasing prevalence of dementia, organisations like the Alzheimer’s Society require more funds to commission research and support people affected by dementia.
