1 in 4 women in the UK will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime. At Woman's Trust, we provide free, confidential, and trauma-informed specialist mental health services. Your support help women rebuild their lives and prevent the trauma of abuse from damaging their futures.

Story

On Sunday 11th October I'll be running my first ever half marathon to raise money for Woman's Trust, a charity that provides life-changing support to women and children overcome the mental and emotional harms of domestic abuse.

This cause is incredibly close to my heart.

A few years ago I found myself in an abusive relationship. Like so many women I stayed silent for a long time. Leaving wasn't easy and rebuilding my confidence afterwards was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

Today I feel incredibly grateful to be in a completely different place. Through movement, community, therapy and the support of the people around me I've slowly rebuilt my life. Running this half marathon is so much more than a physical challenge for me. It's a reminder of my strength of everything I've overcome and of just how far I've come.

Now I want to use this challenge to give something back. By raising money for Woman's Trust I hope to help more women access the support they need.

If you're able to donate no matter how big or small I'd be so grateful. Every contribution will help Woman's Trust continue providing life-changing counselling and support to women who need it most.

And if donating isn't possible sharing this page would mean the world too.

Thank you so much for being part of this journey and for helping me support such an important cause. 🩷
