London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Get Kids Going! helps disabled children take part in sport by providing specialist sports wheelchairs, sports grants and year round support. They can then compete in marathons, triathlons, tennis, athletics, skiing, rugby, basketball etc. With your help, many could become Paralympic champions and world record holders.

Story

I’ve run three marathons, and on April 27th, I’ll be running my fourth—the London Marathon. Each time, I’ve been motivated by my family, my friends, and my personal goals. But this time, it’s different. This time, it’s about something much bigger.

I’m running to help children with disabilities get into sports. Get Kids Going! provides sports wheelchairs, training, and support so these kids can compete and chase their dreams. And every donation makes a real difference.

Teravision and The Arcia-Monsalve Family Foundation have already donated $2,000 to Get Kids Going!, but we’re committed to doing more. We’re pledging to raise an additional $3,000, and I’d love your support. To double the impact, The Arcia-Monsalve Family Foundation will match every dollar you donate—until we reach our $3,000 goal.

To learn more about my running journey:

Eight years ago, my doctor told me something that changed my life: if I wanted to stay healthy long-term, I needed at least two hours of aerobic exercise a week. At that time, I was nowhere near that. I tried swimming but quickly got bored, and that’s when I discovered running. From the start, it clicked with me. I began running two to three times a week and soon found myself training for 5K and 10K races. Little did I know, running would become a major part of my life.

At first, I couldn’t understand how anyone could run for hours on end. But over time, I fell in love with it. Running became more than just exercise—it became a form of meditation. It’s my time to clear my mind and reflect. It’s become one of the most meaningful parts of my life.

In 2022, I decided to push my limits by running my first marathon in New York City with my friends Fabio and Ivan. Having them by my side made the experience truly special and unforgettable. It was an eye-opening journey. Training for a marathon is tough—up to 8-9 hours of running per week. Despite months of preparation, I learned some hard lessons during the race. I made rookie mistakes with pacing, hydration, and fueling, and I finished in 4 hours and 18 minutes, missing my goal of under 4 hours. But instead of feeling defeated, I used that experience to get better.

I hired a coach, refined my training, and ran the Chicago Marathon in 2023, this time achieving a time of 3 hours and 53 minutes. Running with Ivan again, I finally felt in control of the race. We continued training and also completed the Berlin Marathon in 2024, improving our time to 3 hours and 43 minutes.

Berlin was a special milestone for me. Despite all the training, on race day doubts lingered: “Could I really maintain that pace for so long?” To overcome this, I reminded myself of the hard work I put into preparing for this moment. The final miles were grueling, but then I used my superpower—my family and friends who were in my heart every step of the way—to help me push until the finish line. Their support gave me the strength to push through the pain and exhaustion, and I’m forever grateful for that.

Running marathons is not just about crossing the finish line—it’s about the journey, the discipline, and the sense of community. One of my biggest dreams is to complete all six major marathons (New York, Chicago, Berlin, London, Tokyo, and Boston). To qualify for Boston, I need to run a marathon in under 3 hours and 35 minutes when I reach my next age category. I’m working toward that goal, step by step, year by year.

Running the London Marathon has always been a dream of mine, and thanks to GetKidsGoing, that dream is becoming a reality. This charity does incredible work, providing opportunities for disabled children and young athletes to participate in sports by offering equipment like wheelchairs and other support. Their kindness and generosity have given me a spot in the 2025 London Marathon, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Now, I’m reaching out to you—my friends, family, and business partners—because I believe in giving back to this charity that has helped me. My company, Teravision Technologies, and I have already committed donations, but I’m asking for your support to help GetKidsGoing continue their amazing work. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these young athletes. To double the impact, The Arcia-Monsalve Family Foundation will match every dollar you donate—until we reach our $3,000 goal.

Running has taught me the power of consistency, resilience, and support. It’s helped me live a healthier, more fulfilling life, and it’s shown me how important it is to have a community that lifts each other up. I hope you’ll join me in supporting GetKidsGoing by making a donation. Every contribution counts and brings us closer to changing lives—just as running has changed mine.

Thank you for your support. I’m honored to be running in London this April, and I’ll carry all of you with me on race day.
