I'm taking part in the TCS 2025 London Marathon

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
I'm running the TCS 2025 London Marathon as part of #TeamBowelCancerUK.
After my own Stage 3 diagnosis in late 2023, life was certainly turned upside down. Surgery was carried out in February 2024 followed by 3 months of chemotherapy. Cancer is certainly one heck of a journey. Some days I felt good, some days I was lower than I've ever been in my life. And let me be really clear, this was bowel cancer, some days were truly shit.
Now I've rang that bell, and this life experience is behind me, I want to raise some money and awareness for this often misunderstood and misdiagnosed condition.
I applied for the London Marathon during a particularly low period of the chemotherapy treatment. Didn't really give it a second thought until the "You're in" email popped up in my inbox. This is the first time I've ever applied for London, and I know how blessed I am to get a place when there are so many applicants. I guess sometimes things happen for a reason. I am determined not to waste this opportunity I've been given.
The journey to London 2025 is going to be a tough one after being sidelined for 6 months. One things for sure, this cancer inconvenience has certainly been an endurance test. If I can get through that, then I'm determined to complete the London Marathon. Hopefully with a smile, more likely with a grimace, and very possibly, with a tear. Run, walk or crawl, I WILL make that finish line!
A massive, massive thank you to anybody who is kind enough to donate. It really is very much appreciated.
