Story
Anyone that knows me will know that one of my biggest passions in life is singing. Music is a wonderful thing that helps so many people's mental wellbeing and we all need help every so often. Personally when I'm struggling, singing is one of the main things that keeps me going.
On top of the pure singing, Choirs bring together people of all ages and backgrounds to create a community who support and care for each other.
ChoirBLAST is a wonderful local charity that was set up to give everyone the opportunity to have access to a choir. They focus specifically on helping with local schools to give underprivileged kids an outlet for their time and energies as well as a space to create friends with like minded people.
ChoirBLAST also works directly with local charities like the Meath Epilepsy Charity and the HALOW Project to support people with special needs and disabilities. Singing has been shown to drastically help these people with the ongoing struggles they face.
The Sprint Triathlon itself is:
- 750m Open Water Swim
- 20km Cycle
- 5km Run
For me personally I've been training specifically for this for over 6 months.
My run times have improved over the last year from 36 minutes down to just over 30, I have finally managed to complete the 750m swim (in a pool) doing front crawl without any breaks and have been managing to do the 10k cycle to/from work. I'm proud of the graft so far but having sponsorship will really give me the push I'm going to need on the day when it all comes together.
Any money raised will truly go a long way in helping many people in the local community so anything you can give will make a big difference.
Thank You :)
