Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

I'm running the London Marathon to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. This is my first ever marathon, and I’m not even sure I can run that far!

So why am I….? Sadly my brother, Dave, recently died aged 50 as a result of a heart attack; so when the opportunity came along to run this inimitable event and raise as much money as I could for the British Heart Foundation I figured I had to at least give it a go.

The British Heart Foundation funds world leading research into the causes, prevention and treatment of heart and circulatory diseases - vital research when you know that coronary heart disease is the leading cause of death and most common cause of premature death worldwide.

So any amount you can spare, big or small, will go to a great cause, spur me on and also serve as a tribute to Dave, who was loved by so many.

Thanks so much

Rich
