Story
I am running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise funds for the Railway Benefit Fund.
The last time I ran the Royal Parks Half, I drank my body weight in tequila two days before I somehow ended up finishing in 1 hour 30 mins and in the top ten percent of all finishers (I even got sent a t-shirt to prove it). Now, well now, I’m really unfit, tequila would see me sat on the sofa regretting my life choices for days, and if I finish at all it would be a bonus.
Enough about me, The Railway Benefit Fund, also known as RBF, is a charity which provides support to current, former and retired railway people and their families across the UK.
Last year RBF helped over 1,000 railway people, many struggling to cope with the cost of living crisis. For some, simply putting food on the table for their children has been a difficulty.
I am running to make a difference.
