Our brilliant team of senior students are ON IT, in their quest to raise money for the school, before the sadly leave us this summer.

The main event in this farewell fundraising extravaganza is a remarkable physical challenge: on Sunday 1 March they will set off from Sunbury Lock and walk marathon distance (26.2 miles) down the Thames Path, finishing at Buckingham Palace in central London.

In recent times school budgets have been squeezed, sometimes making it difficult to improve facilities and create inviting spaces for students and staff alike.

Instead of simply accepting this, our senior students have taken the bull by the horns in order to raise funds for several large projects that they would like to support, all of which will improve teaching and learning spaces, social spaces or sports facilities.

In my opinion, what is most notable about this effort is that the students undertaking the challenge will not be here to enjoy the fruits of their labour. In that sense it is an astonishing act of selflessness and embodies so many of our school values, together with the ancient proverb of citizenship, which states:
