I have decided to conquer a fear this Summer, and strap myself to the top wing of a 1940s biplane and fly at 140mph through the skies of Gloucestershire at 800 feet to raise money for Dreamflight.

If I raise enough sponsorship to reach my target I will even do it in fancy dress!

Dreamflight is a UK registered charity, established in 1987, that takes 192 children (aged 8-14) with life-threatening or life-limiting illness or disability, on a life-changing trip to Orlando, Florida.

I have been involved with this charity since 2009 in a role as one of the group doctors, and have seen first hand the positive impact this trip has on the lives of these deserving children. More than a holiday, it provides an amazing experience allowing them to form long-lasting friendships and develop their self-confidence doing things they never imagined were possible with their conditions.

I know times are tough for so many at the moment, including charities, so even if you can only spare the cost of a cup of coffee, all donations will be gratefully received to help give more deserving children the experience of a lifetime!

Just £5 will pay for one child to have an ice cream in one of the hot, sunny parks.

£12 could pay for lunch and snacks for one child for one day of the trip.

£35 could pay for a full day at a Walt Disney World water park for one of the children.

£100 could cover a whole day at Universal Studios for two Dreamflight children!
