Spencer's Charity Fundraiser 2024 for Children's Cancer North

Tough Mudder Yorkshire 2024 · 27 July 2024 ·
Like most 6 year olds, Spencer was a fit and healthy little boy but in October 2020, he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (a cancer of the blood). Spencer endured 9 tough months of intense chemotherapy before moving into a maintenance stage of treatment. Spencer’s treatment plan was a total of 3.5 years, however after 2.5 years, Spencer relapsed and the Leukaemia returned.
In June 2023, Spencer underwent a bone marrow transplant, where he spent 9 weeks in hospital and although he is now home, he is still in isolation to this day. Before the transplant, Spencer endured further intense chemotherapy and full body radiotherapy as part of this treatment. Although Spencer seemed to be making a good recovery, he sadly relapsed for a second time in October 2023.
Spencer has recently received further treatment at the RVI in Newcastle and although Spencer is in the early stages of his recovery, we are praying his is Spencer’s cure.
Spencer is 10 years old this April and has been through more than any child should. Cancer has taken away 4 years of his childhood and charities such as Children’s Cancer North rely on these vital funds to research kinder cancer treatments for children.
Please donate if you can and help children like Spencer and his family get through these incredibly tough times. Thank you
