Richard's fundraiser for Prisoners' Education Trust

Richard Farrant is raising money for Prisoners' Education Trust

Cycling from John O'Groats to Lands End

Prisoners Education Trust is a national charity aiming to extend and enrich the educational opportunities available to prisoners, providing them with a chance to build a better and more constructive future for themselves, their family and their community.

Story

As part of his 80th birthday celebrations Richard is cycling from John O'Groats to Lands End. Taking minor roads, cycle paths and canal towpaths for 1,000miles, this will take three weeks starting on 6 September 2025.

Part of the motivation is to raise funds for the Prisoners' Education Trust. This charity provides distance learning courses and educational advice to prisoners, empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed to reintegrate into society on their release. By supporting this cause we can help reduce the likelihood of reoffending and foster a brighter future for those seeking redemption.

At 80 this is ambitious, perhaps foolhardy. Your generous support will spur me on, but more important it will make a significant difference in the lives of many who are striving to better themselves, providing hope and opportunity for those who face huge challenges in reintegrating back into society.
