100 KM Forbidden Land Trek, Namibia - For The Snow Sports Foundation · 21 September 2025

We provide funding to give life-changing experiences to those with additional needs, mental health challenges, disabilities, financial hardship, social or exceptional circumstances through inclusive snow sports coaching. This helps to develop their emotional, physical, and mental well-being.

Story

After the emotional journey to 19,341 ft and the top of Africa (that took everything and a little more) with 24 hours above 15,000 ft, I always thought there would be a next push of my capabilities. To then spend 20 days in Nepal in 2024 and make it to the top of Gokyo Ri, Chola Pass and to Everest Base camp with the majesty of Everest and the 8,000-metre peaks of the Himalayas all around me was just electric.

My next challenge for the Foundation will be at sea-level in Namibia, along its unspoiled remote Atlantic coast. The country is home to diverse wildlife, stunning scenery and plenty of sand!

This trek will be 100 km through one of the planet's most pristine wilderness areas. It will follow the Skeleton coast, passing the Langewands, across the vast sand dunes of the Namibia Desert, the oldest desert in the world, and along the vibrant Sandwich Harbour lagoon, teeming with sea and bird life.

As part of the greater Skeleton Coast, there is ancient history, from old diamond mines to sun-bleached whale bones and mysterious shipwrecks shrouded in mist. Wild desert camping, 7-8 hours trekking every day. Vast desert landscapes, incredible dark skies and breathtaking natural beauty. What is there not to love!

Every pound raised for the Foundation goes towards helping its students experience the amazing benefits that snow sports can bring, enhancing their social, emotional and communication skills, whilst improving fitness, balance, concentration and ultimately, their self-confidence and happiness.
