For those who don't know me, I am the father to Joseph and Oliver, who enjoy many of North Somerset Athletics events.

I have been lucky enough to be awarded a place at 2023 London Marathon by North Somerset Athletics, and I want to use this opportunity to raise a few pounds.

I will split any money raised between North Somerset Athletics Club and the Club's favoured charity; Childrens Hospice South West. This way, everyone at the Club will get to see the benefit of the fundraising, and help children who are less fortunate than our own.

This will be my second marathon, and first in London. My only other marathon was 7 years ago between Bristol and Bath.

I am massively looking forward to the challenge, the atmosphere of running in London, and everything about the event. To say that I am incredibly fortunate to be able to run a marathon is an understatement. Not least, because it is heavily over-subscribed, but also, because 12 years ago I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Through medication, I have been very lucky to carry on as normal.

I will run this marathon and think of people who are not as fortunate as myself, and hopefully raise a few pounds in the process.
