The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. This is my story:

It's 10 years since I had a major heart attack and nearly died and spent 5 days in a coma, i have the wonderful Paramedics, Air Ambulance staff, Surgeons, Doctors and Nurses to thank for keeping my alive and allowing me another 11 years to date.

The reality of being that close to losing my life will never leave me and that in itself makes me even more grateful to everyone who saved my life.

I think we underestimate the continual support that the BHF require to invest into research and equipment to help everyone who suffer from heart attacks each year, that is the biggest reason why I continue to raise money so I can give back something for saving my life.

The stories I read through the BHF website are showing men and women who are having heart attacks are getting younger each year (I was 48) but the success stories are improving so the BHF will always need donations whether it be large or small it all helps, so thanks very much for your donation.
