Story
On the 27th April, I’m taking on the Manchester Marathon to raise funds for Switchboard, an amazing helpline that provides support and guidance to the LGBTQ+ community. My target is to raise £500 and shave off an hour from my previous marathon time (5 hours and 2 minutes at a scorching and hilly Leeds marathon 🥵).
Switchboard the LGBT+ Helpline is a confidential helpline open to the LGBTQ+ communities and beyond, for anyone who wants to talk about gender identity, sexuality, sexual health and emotional wellbeing. We operate a telephone line, instant messaging and email service from 10am to 10pm, 365 days a year.
It's so critical that we talk about mental health, tackle stigmas and work to reduce levels of loneliness across the LGBTQ+ communities now more than ever. These are some of the many reasons that Switchboard exists, and has done since 1974.
I’d be so grateful if you could donate any amount you can spare. I’ll be sharing all my training updates here, so you can follow my journey or you can find me on Strava.
See you at the end!
