On the 6th April I will be running the the London Landmarks Half marathon in aid of the Evelina Children's Heart Organisation (ECHO).

ECHO supports children and young people with heart conditions and their families, who’ve been treated by Evelina London and its network hospitals across the UK. Families are supported at every stage of their heart child’s journey from the moment of diagnosis through childhood, teenage years and during the transition to adult services. ECHO provides practical and emotional support and welcomes families into a community of shared experience and understanding, at times when there is little other help available.

I have seen first hand the help and assistance the charity can provide. During the first COVID lockdown in 2020 we learnt that our daughter, Sophie, had a rare heart condition called Interrupted Aortic Arch at the 20 week scan, which would require surgery when she was born. Through the charity we were put in contact with other families that had faced similar experience's which was of great help with what was to come. Sophie had successful open heart surgery at 5 days old and she is now an energetic and thriving 4 year old.
