I am running the Cardiff Half Marathon in October in aid of Dementia UK.

Many of you will know that my dad Philip suffered with dementia towards the end of his life. The impact on him and the family was huge and painful to witness.

My dad was a great supporter of mine in all things sporty and was himself a pretty impressive runner in his youth.

As tribute to him and to raise funds to help those affected by dementia it seemed fitting to run the Cardiff Half Marathon in aid of Dementia UK.

As a bit of insight Dementia UK provides support through information and advice leaflets and a free helpline together with amazing work done by their Admiral Nurses in the community.

Any amount you can donate will help support both those affected personally as well as helping families and carers.
