SAKA was set up in 1976 by a group of medical staff and renal patients. We aim to help kidney patients and their families cope with kidney failure and we raise funds for research into kidney disease. We give direct financial help to renal patients when they are struggling, and represent their views.

Story

As you may, or may not know .....I donated a kidney to my bestie Alan Cowling in 2020 after a very challenging journey to get there. This year we are both 60 years young and in recognition of all the support we have been given to make it happen, I'm fund raising for SAKA who you can read about below. Thanks for your support.

SAKA exists to help and support all kidney patients in the Sheffield and surrounding area. CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) affects many people, particularly as they get older. Less than 1 in 10 of people with CKD will require dialysis or transplant during their lives.

Whatever stage patients are at, SAKA is there to help them, their families, friends and carers.
