Story
Our On Saturday 11th April, I’m taking on the challenge of playing as many hymns as possible from our red hymn book (Ancient and Modern: Hymns and Songs for Refreshing Worship) in 12 hours — from 8am to 8pm… how many can I manage!
With the help of a few musical friends, and joined by the fantastic St Mary’s choir for the final hour, it promises to be a really special day of music, worship, and a bit of endurance!
I’m raising money for something very close to my heart - the care and maintenance of St Mary’s organ. Over the past few years, restoring and modernising the organ has been a real passion project for me. But like any instrument, it needs ongoing care to keep it in good working order.
The organ plays a vital role in the life of our church, supporting worship, services, and community events throughout the year. Any support you can give will help ensure it continues to do so for many years to come.
Thank you so much for your support - and do feel free to pop in on the day and hear (or even sing!) a hymn or two! is to raise money for St Mary’s organ fund, helping to care for and maintain this vital part of our church life.
