Story

UPDATE 10th May 2025

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

What a fantastic response we have seen over the past 9 days from our supporters to help us with our fundraising efforts.

With 1 day to go until we visit the 'hurt locker' to raise vital funds we have broken through our adjusted Donation Target and have taken the decision to increase the target to £3,000.

UPDATE 1st May 2025

With 10 days to go until the marathon and following some fantastic support this past week we have decided to increase our target amount to £2500. Thank you so much to all who have given a donation, we will not let you down.

UPDATE 26th April 2025

Just over 2 weeks to go until the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon and we are seeing momentum in the training being done by our challengers and also with donations that are being made by our supporters.

We are currently at 48% of our £2000 target and wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has donated so far and also those who have shared our page or story, which has given us a wider audience.

The runners tops have arrived and don't they look great!

Our heartfelt thanks go to Resimac who, once again, have sponsored us and also to Shawcross Printers in Ossett who have done a fantastic job on our running tops.

Our focus now is on smashing through our fundraising target and bringing the whole team through the finish line on the day.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On 11th May 2025 the Rawthey Runners will have members running in the Rob Burrows Leeds Marathon and also the Half Marathon.

Our Runners on the day are:

Malcom Bridgen, Will Longlands, Jim McIlvar, Anna Yates, Nikki Jackson, Richard Bingham, Steph Jackson, Susie Gowlett and Sarah Jane Davis

The Rawthey Project has formed a very close partnership with Tom Harrison House (THH), based in Liverpool. THH are the only Addiction and Rehabilitation organisation that is dedicated to treating Veterans, serving members of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services.

This partnership has come about through an understanding that the beneficiaries which Rawthey help often suffer from the co-morbidities of addiction and alcoholism so helping THH in tackling that aspect leads to a greater probability of successful outcomes for those beneficiaries.

We want to raise as much money as possible so that The Rawthey Project, through their partnership with THH, can make a real difference for those who are struggling.

If you are able to donate, and are a UK Tax Payer, please select the Gift Aid option so that we can increase you donation with no further cost to yourself.

Thank You
