richard's fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Cycling 185 miles (300km) with 4,500m of elevation in one day · 23 June 2024
I have done some "silly" events on the bike before, most notably L'etape du tour which was a 100 mile bike ride in the French Alps with 4,500m of climbing! Well hold my nebuliser, because this one is even sillier!
I have signed up to do the Dragon Devil Ride which comprises 185 miles (300 km) with 4,500 m of climbing - all in one day!!
Why would I sign up to such an event? Mainly, because I can! I turned 40 this year and for someone with CF, this is a really big milestone!
I am also doing this because there are still many people with CF who don't benefit from the amazing drug I do (Kaftrio) and which has improved my health and quality of life in more ways than I can describe. It's really important to me that these people aren't forgotten and that one day, CF will be a disease of the past!
So please give what you can, even the smallest donation will make a big difference!
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.
Cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting our physical health, mental wellbeing and how we choose to live our lives. But our community is uniting towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all.
Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis.
