Story
Hello! In April 2026 I will be running the London marathon. It will be my 10th marathon (assuming I run the scheduled ones between now and then...), but my first in London and my first (and in all likelihood last) where I ask for any sponsorship.
The charity I have chosen is one close to my heart - Prostate Cancer Research. Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed male cancer in the UK, but current treatments are limited and can be harmful, particularly for the late stages.
My father in law Mike very sadly died a few years ago with prostate cancer so this charity was a natural choice for me. And fittingly, Mike was a keen marathon runner back in the days of no carbon shoes, no garmin, no strava, no gels, no nothing really. No idea how he did it - I have to turn back if my headphones are running low.....
Any sponsorship you can give would be much appreciated! I will match pound for pound the first £2,500 of donations to move things along.
More on the charity below for anyone interested.
Cheers and thanks again,
Richard

Prostate Cancer Research funds research into more effective treatments for prostate cancer with the aim of creating a future where people are free from the impact of the disease. Your fundraising will support innovative scientists with bold ideas working collaboratively to achieve results and who put patient voice at the heart of their decisions, making a real difference to the lives of people affected.
Any donations will help me get one step closer to my target and will help to support Prostate Cancer Research in achieving their mission.
