Richard's fundraiser for akt - the albert kennedy trust

Richard Knight is raising money for akt - the albert kennedy trust
Coming out, or being outed as LGBTQ+ can lead to young people being made homeless. This is the reality for 77% of the young people akt supports. We proudly offer safe homes and better futures for LGBTQ+ people aged 16-25.

Story

I am BEYOND EXCITED to be hosting my annual Pride fundraiser yoga in the park for the fourth year.

If you would like to join the class, please book (and donate) here, otherwise I would be so grateful for a donation on this page.

Yoga is a space for me where I am able to fully show up and be myself in a diverse and welcoming community - something we should all be able to do all of the time. AKT support young LGBTQ+ people at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness, often as a result of their gender or sexuality.

Last year, over 65 people joined class and we raised almost £2000 - please help me blow those numbers away this year! If you've been before, you'll know there's always a few outfit changes - and you're encourage to dress up as well, if you fancy it!

---

akt is the only national charity dedicated to providing support for LGBTQ+ young people who are either at risk of homelessness or currently experiencing it.

Unlike their heterosexual or cisgender counterparts, LGBTQ+ individuals often find themselves homeless precisely because of their identity.

Our mission is clear: to offer essential services that cater to the specific needs of LGBTQ+ youth, ranging from emergency housing advice to finding your community.

No one should have to choose between a safe home and being who they are.
