Every end of life is personal and individual. It should be the best it can be, not dependent on where you live or your family and friends. We need to value each person as they live their final chapter. Help them to be pain free, dignified (as much as they want to be) and able to create precious moments. It might not always be possible, but we should do the best we can for each person and their loved ones. Right now one in 4 people don't get the end of life care they deserve. That is wrong. I spent the last 6 months of my mums life just wanting it to be better than it was. And those memories often feel much closer to the surface than the many years of wonderful times. Since working at Marie Curie I know end of life can be different and better.
