We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

In 2009 our lives were changed forever when my younger sister Eleanor, who was 14 at the time, was struck by a car whilst walking home on the pavement with friends from an evening out.

She was rushed to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, where the dedicated team of doctors and nurses fought tirelessly over the coming days to save her life. Sadly, despite their best efforts, she passed away, leaving an irreplaceable void in our hearts.

The quality of care provided not just to Eleanor but our whole family by Great Ormond Street during this time will live with me forever. I am eternally grateful for the staff and the facilities provided by the hospital which helped give comfort to my family in our most difficult time.

2024 would have been Eleanor's 30th Birthday so to honour her memory and celebrate the occasion, whilst expressing my gratitude for the exceptional care she received, I will be running the London Marathon to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.

No donation is too small, and every contribution will make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and their families who are facing unimaginable challenges.
