Story
On 21 April I am lacing up my running shoes for the 2024 London Marathon. I'm running for Alzheimer’s UK in memory of my Grandad, who sadly passed away with the disease almost 10 years to the date of the marathon, and also for my Nanna, who is currently suffering from the same illness.
Grandad was always our biggest supporter, spending hours at various football and cricket grounds, cheering us on at every possible moment. When he wasn’t watching us, he would find a spare ticket and take us to watch Colchester United, creating memories we didn't fully appreciate until we were older.
The story doesn't end there. My grandmother is currently suffering the same illness. Witnessing her gradual decline is a heart-wrenching experience, as this disease steals away the memories we hold dear.
Alzheimer's UK are at the forefront of the battle against the disease, tirelessly working to fund research, provide support, and ultimately find a cure.
Your support, whether big or small, will make a difference. If you're able, it would mean a lot if you could consider making a donation to my JustGiving page linked below.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your support, whether big or small, is sincerely appreciated.
