London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·

We work to improve the lives of people living with pain. We run a helpline and publish information leaflets and a magazine: Pain Matters, aimed at informing ordinary people about pain. The charity campaigns for better pain services and a better understanding of the needs of people living with pain.

Story

Chronic pain is a silent epidemic.

It is the no.1 cause of years lived with disability worldwide and it disproportionately affects people who are socially and economically disadvantaged.

12% of adults in the UK live with high-impact chronic pain, and numbers are expected to rise by 32% by 2040, more than any other major condition (The Health Foundation).

People with chronic pain are twice as likely to not be in paid employment and 50% of people affected by chronic pain also struggle with anxiety or depression (NICE).

We can do better to reduce the burden of chronic pain starting with improving support for those affected.

Pain Concern are committed to making a difference, and they can do more if they are given the funding to do so.

I appreciate there are lots of great causes worthy of your support, but please consider donating if you can.

Thank you
