Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In September I will again be walking 15 miles in aid of the Tanzanian charity, FUM. This year we are raising funds to be able to build a maternity ward in the village of Uhindi which is in the Kaliua District. We estimate this will cost at least £12,000. There is a simple clinic and dispensary in Uhindi but as more pregnant women now see the benefits of attending a maternity ward for the delivery of their babies there is an urgent need for a new maternity ward. Most months up to 100 births take place at the clinic in Uhindi. This village is a long way from the nearest District Hospital, 30+km, hence the need for a maternity ward in the remote rural village. Every penny I raise will go towards this project as FUM is run purely by volunteers. I thank you in advance for your kind donation.
