Story
Finn and I are walking across part of Dartmoor to help raise money for close friends of ours. After 20 years of friendship, my friend Emma shared with us that her daughter Ellia was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 8. No child should have to go through what she is going through, she is 6 months into her chemotherapy and still has a long road ahead. Now 9, Ellia is a force to be reckoned with. She is incredibly brave and continues to let her happy personality shine. Finn has grown up with Ellia and they have always had an unspoken bond. He wanted to help his friend in anyway he can. When the opportunity came along to walk with Emma, Dan, Ellia and Mahla and many other, he jumped at the chance.
OSCAR's Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity are walking 15 miles of Dartmoor to raise money to support children with brain tumours and their families, raise awareness of signs and symptoms of this terrible disease, and fund research into better and kinder treatments.
Our amazing team of children and families will be walking to help as many other children and families as possible but very much thinking of local girl Ellia Smith, who is undergoing treatment for a brain tumour diagnosed in 2025.
