Story
My name is Richard Rudge, I'm a housekeeping assistant in a care home as well as a comic book maker and illustrator.
Through my home and work experience in care, I've seen the help that older and vulnerable folk need, and I'm so glad that charities such as Age UK to provide much needed resources to our local communities.
My mother, Maureen, has Alzheimer's disease and I cared for her at home before her needs became too complex, and now she is supported in local care home. I saw firsthand what this devastating disease takes away from the people we love.
I'm beginning to explore the emotional impact of being a carer through my artistic life but I've always felt I want to help out more.
I jumped at the chance to sign up for a skydiving charity fundraiser because I know my Mom would be proud of me to be raising money for charity but also a little bit terrified that I'm doing it by Skydiving.
The Jump itself will be on May 9th in Brackley, it's a tandem jump, with a trained skydiver.
Age UK Solihull is a local charity that supports around 10,000 older and vulnerable Solihull residents each year.
