Story
In my 50th year I’m well on the way to saving 50 lives and learning about Good Giving and sustainable charity work.
Kentish Town Foodbank is on the verge of closure and needs assistance. There are plans to make the organisation self sustaining but they need time to get there. I’ve taken time to select a charity to get involved in, KTFB is efficient, impactful and has great potential for even more.
Here are the highlights:
* KTFB delivers food to those who are mid emergency. Without them those people and their families would go hungry. In the last 12 months they have helped around 2,000 families in crisis with three day food parcels.
* 95%+ of users are referred by frontline services (GPs, schools, Camden council etc), ensuring targeted support
* Provides more than food: toiletries, hygiene products and household essentials, addressing broader cost-of-living pressures
* Acts as a gateway to recovery: signposts clients to debt advice, housing support and employment services, helping reduce repeat reliance
* Converts local support into direct impact: corporate partners, community donors and a team of 50 volunteers fund and deliver the majority of services at grassroots level
If you can donate £50 you will impact five families, £50 a month and you are positively impacting the whole community.
I’ve pledged my support below and hope others will help where they can. I’m working with the team to increase the frontline support and reduce the dependence on one off fundraising.
