On 15 April 2022, Emily had a double lung transplant at Wythenshawe Hospital. The treatment and care that Emily received at the hospital before and after her transplant was outstanding and was, in part, due to the brilliant work and fundraising by New Start (https://www.newstartcharity.org/). Emily was extremely grateful for the 'second chance' she received by having the transplant and was able to have many wonderful experiences and create treasured memories after the operation. She was a big supporter of New Start and the work they do to support transplants at Wythenshawe Hospital.
