Cycling from Calais to Paris · 2 September 2023
My son, Harry, had a stroke when he was only 17 months old, on 13th September 2020. I will never forget this date. He lost movement to his whole right hand side and he ended up at The Evelina Children's Hospital at St. Thomas's in London for 6 weeks. We were not sure what future Harry would have. Due to his young age, the fantastic work by the hospital staff, and Harry's own determination, he has made great progress. He still has right sided weakness, but is able to walk supported by a splint and make use of his right hand.
I want to raise money for the stroke association as Harry has been affected, and my father passed away from a stroke in 2015. The care and support for my son and father were exceptional. I want to be able to raise as much money as possible for this great cause so other people who have been affected by Stroke can still get the support offered by this charity.
I also hope this raises awareness of Childhood stroke as it was not something I was aware of until it happened to my son.
Any support and/or donations however big or small will be much appreciated. Thank you.
THE CHALLENGE - Cycling from Calais to Paris over 3 days. This will be just under 200 miles, and the equivalent of doing the London to Brighton cycle ride 3 days on the trot.
