Big Fun Walk 2025 · 18 May 2025 ·
UPDATE (13th May 2025)
On the 18th May I am going to be taking on the Big Fun Walk in memory of my late wife, Sharon Stacey, who I lost to cancer in 2024. This year’s theme is Superheroes, and I have come under some pressure (including the promise of further donations) to dress up!
I can now reveal I will be walking as Wonder Woman. My crash diet has worked and I can now squeeze into my costume, so I just have to sort out the accessories.
I have lost my own Wonder Woman so this seems appropriate, and I will do my best to honour her memory. Hopefully this will encourage further donations, and I am likely to walk much faster too!
My late wife, Sharon Stacey, received amazing support from NLH over a period of 7 challenging years. The following article highlights her story and how she benefitted:

Every pound raised helps the hospice's care teams to provide the best quality palliative and end of life care and support for patients and families living with a life limiting illness.
Your donation will be going to an extremely well run and caring organisation. Not only did the hospice support Sharon, but they are now helping me come to terms with everything that has happened. They provide bereavement counselling, walk and talks and other events to help those that have lost a loved one.
This annual event is so important because all the services the hospice offers are provided completely free. With only 30% of funding coming from the NHS, they rely on donations from the community to raise over £16 million each year.
Although not the biggest challenge in the world the walk will be fun and inclusive!
Please help honour Sharon's memory by raising money for the North London Hospice.
