I am taking the leap to raise funds for a cause close to my heart. As some of you will be aware, as well as being chair of Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust, I am also chair of the hospital charity. The charity is raising money for an incredible development at our Luton and Dunstable Hospital. This development will house state of the art theatres, a neonatal Unit, a brand new maternity unit and wards, as well as a new intensive care unit. As part of this exciting development the hospital charity is raising funds to enhance these spaces, to make them more welcoming. Our Head of Charity has persuaded me to jump off this new building with others in the hope that it will raise awareness and funds for this significant development.
