In May, my son and I attended a beginners course for Archery at the Southampton Archery Club. Needless to say we're both in love with the sport and have really appreciated the warm welcome we've received.
As a neurodiverse adult myself, with a wife and two children also on the spectrum, Autism Hampshire is a charity close to my heart. It just so happens to also be the charity that the Southampton Archery Club has chosen for fundraising this year.
On the Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th of July the club is holding a 24-hour archery challenge, and hosting an open-to-the-public fete from 10am to 3pm on the Saturday where members of the general public can come along and try out archery, enjoy the activities, BBQ, and icecreams, etc. I am going to take part and have booked a slot, even though I'm new to the sport - hopefully I won't make too much of a fool of myself!
I hope that you will be willing to sponsor my participation, even if only with a little bit, so that we can raise as much as possible in aid of this worthy cause.
