For 11 years, I've had the privilege of working alongside men and women from the Royal Air Force, British Army and Royal Navy in the JSF.

During that time I've seen things that changed my perspective on what service and sacrifice really mean. I've seen war, but more importantly, I've seen the human beings behind the uniform.

The people who leave their families behind.

The people who go towards situations the rest of us would instinctively run from.

And the people who eventually come home carrying experiences that aren't always visible from the outside.

That's the part I think we sometimes forget.

Coming home doesn't necessarily mean the battle is over.

Physical injuries can be seen. The mental impact of service often can't.

For some veterans, leaving the Armed Forces means walking away from the structure, purpose, routine and brotherhood or sisterhood that has surrounded them for years. Suddenly they're expected to find their place in civilian life while potentially carrying memories and experiences most of us could never fully understand.

And the support simply isn't there in the way, or for as long, as people need it.

I would never pretend to understand exactly what it feels like to have been in others shoes as everyones battles are diffrent. After spending so many years working alongside brave military personnel, I've seen enough to know how much respect and support they deserve.

That's why Help for Heroes matters to us.

Roads and Rogues is a group brought together by cars and motorsport, but underneath that we're simply people trying to use something we love to help people who deserve our support.

Our charity track day at Castle Combe on 26 October 2026 is one part of that. We want what we're building to go beyond one circuit and one day, continuing to raise money and awareness through the automotive community.

Because behind every uniform is a person.

A husband or wife.

A mum or dad.

A son or daughter.

A friend.

Someone who laughed, struggled, loved, feared and sacrificed just like the rest of us.

And when somebody has been prepared to give part of their life in service of others, I believe we have a responsibility not to forget about them when the uniform comes off.

We can't undo what somebody has seen.

We can't erase the experiences they carry.

But we can make sure they don't have to carry them alone.

That's what we're raising money for.

Not sympathy.

Support. Dignity. Purpose. And the knowledge that somebody still has their back.

If our cars, our events and our community can raise money that helps even one veteran or their family through a difficult period, then every bit of effort we've put into events with RSFFE Track days as partners will have been worthwhile.
