Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hi!
As a proud trustee of the Matthew22 Fund (now immortalised on ‘Michael McIntyre’s Big Show’), I’ve decided to take on a challenge myself.
My plan is to walk to work on Sunday 4th May 2025 (I know it’s not a work day – but it is double time on Sundays).
“That sounds easy” I hear you cry, which is certainly what I’d be saying too. But then you have to look into the details. For example, you need to take into account that I’m nearly 63, totally unfit, overweight and probably and more importantly, I work at BCH which is in Whitworth, Rochdale, but live in Halifax. You keen Geography buffs will probably be able to work out that it’s actually 21 miles away and there’s a small matter of some little bumps in the road along the way called the PENNINES. So perhaps it’s not as easy a challenge as it sounds.
I’ll be joined by my youngest son Jack and hopefully other friends will join us too? OK they agreed when they were drunk, but that’s a binding contract to me, I mean, how else do you think I got Rachel to marry me?
Anyone else who fancies a “stroll” and would like to come along please contact me. You will be more than welcome.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated and would go towards the Matthew22 Fund's who support children going through life threatening illnesses and their families during treatment.
Thank you for your support - Forward Through Adversity.
