South Coast Challenge 2024 · 7 September 2024 ·

British Exploring Society's Chair of Trustees, Richard Walton, together with our Members, will be taking on the South Coast Ultra Challenge - 25km, and raising vital funds to support disadvantaged young people from across the UK.

Story

I joined British Exploring Society as Chair earlier this year and have been simply amazed at what they do - empowering & equipping young people with the courage, skills, resilience & determination to make the most of their lives. They do this by running expeditions (led by highly skilled voluntary leaders) to wild and remote places in the world and the results are transformative – not just in terms of practical skills & resilience, but in a new-found confidence & self-belief.

Many of the young people who benefit most are from disadvantaged backgrounds; some have never been outside their immediate (often urban) environment.

In 2024, expeditions are planned for Scotland, Iceland and Georgia.

To help their mission, in September a team of four of us are walking the Ultra Challenge 2024. We want to raise awareness and funds for this amazing organisation.

Our team consists of David Tilston, Sarah Greasley, Patrick Turnbull and myself.

Please donate to this wonderful charity and support me to complete the South Coast Challenge walking 25kms on 7th Sept.

Your donation will make a massive difference to the lives of young people, AND motivate us to put another foot in front of the other when the going gets tough.

Thank you for anything you can spare. We really appreciate it.
