Story
Richard Shirley very sadly passed away on 8th October 2024 after a short battle with cancer. In his memory we are raising money for Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, who looked after him and the family so well in his final week. We want to be able to give another family the same care we had in such a difficult time.
Rich (Shirls / Reggie) was a loving husband, brother, uncle, friend and mentor to so many people. From a young age, he was an avid footballer, playing at Aylesbury Dynamos, Tring Corinthians, Risborough Rangers and Winslow United. His passion for the game went beyond the pitch, as a constant source of support and inspiration, particularly to younger players, and was also a committed member of Winslow Utd Committee, spending many an hour helping to improve the facilities.
He more recently found the love for cycling, joining Winslow Wheelers. He loved the Saturday morning rides but more importantly the pint at the pub afterwards. Always quick with a smile and a joke, he loved banter, especially about football over a pint.
We will miss him so much. Katherine and his family would love to hear your stories and anecdotes about Rich so please share them.
