Story
Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness worldwide, responsible for up to 12% of all blindness cases, affecting around 5.9 million people globally. In the UK alone, around 250 people lose their sight every year due to treatable conditions like glaucoma. These numbers are staggering—and they’re a powerful reminder of why early detection, awareness, and support are so vital.
On the 26th April I'll be lacing up my running shoes and taking on the 2026 London Marathon. Every mile I run is for the thousands of people living with glaucoma, for the researchers working tirelessly to find better treatments, and for Glaucoma UK—an incredible charity that provides hope, education, and support to those in need.
Running 26.2 miles is no small feat, but it’s nothing compared to the daily challenges faced by those with glaucoma. I’m running to raise awareness, to fund life-changing research, and to ensure that no one faces this journey alone.
Together, we can protect sight and change lives. Thank you for supporting me, and Glaucoma UK on this journey.
