Richie's fundraiser for Alder Hey Children's Charity

Chester Half Marathon · 18 May 2025 ·
I am running Chester Half Marathon to raise funds for Alder Hey Childrens hospital.
When our Son Teddy was 6 days old, he became poorly and we were transferred by ambulance from our local hospital, to Alder Hey for specialist neonatal care. This was one of the scariest and saddest times of our life, but as soon as we arrived at Alder Hey, they took control of the situation and we felt calm, and that Teddy was safe and in the best possible care. Thanks to some amazing Doctors, Nurses and the medical team, we were able to find out what was wrong, and he was diagnosed with Hirshsprungs disease.
When he was 2.5 months old we returned to Alder Hey for Teddy’s surgery, and experienced the same care and expertise that we’d felt previously. His condition isn’t ‘cured’, but thanks to his amazing team at Alder Hey, he is thriving ❤️
Alder Hey is one of the leading Children’s hospitals for Hirshsprungs, and is pioneering research into understanding this rare genetic condition, and looking at future therapies and support for HD babies and families.
We are so grateful for the care, and expertise that we’ve had, and continue to receive. We love Alder Hey 💙
